Justin Label, Partner, Bessemer Venture Partners
Justin is a Partner in Bessemer's Menlo Park office, focusing on Cleantech investments. He has been with Bessemer since 2001. Justin initiated Bessemer's Cleantech practice in 2005. His Cleantech investments include CPower, Silicon Valley Solar, and Exclara, and he is also involved in Bessemer's other Cleantech portfolio companies Miasolé and Shriram EPC. Prior to developing Bessemer's Cleantech practice, Justin focused on Internet and software investing. He helped make the firm's investments in Postini (acquired by Google), Cyota (acquired by RSA), Netli (acquired by Akamai), Trigo (acquired by IBM), Flock, and Nominum, as well as in Delivery Agent and Tripwire, where he continues to serve as a Director. Justin holds an AB from Harvard University in Applied Mathematics.
Diana Propper de Callejon, General Partner, Expansion Capital Partners, LLC
Diana has more than 14 years of experience in Clean Technology, in the areas of energy, water, advanced materials and transportation. Diana brings to Expansion Capital Partners her recognized domain expertise and her global network of entrepreneurs, venture capital investors, and large corporations active in Clean Technology. Her background encompasses work with Fortune 500 companies, venture-backed technology companies, financial institutions and private investors in Clean Technology. Prior to Expansion Capital, Diana was the co-founder and Managing Director of EA Capital, a financial services firm that advised clients on new business and investment opportunities in resource efficiency and productivity. One of the first firms specialized in this area, EA Capital established itself as a leading investment advisory firm focused on Clean Technology. Diana holds a BA, summa cum laude, from Duke University, and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
Navin Chaddha, Managing Partner, Mayfield Fund
Navin is a proven serial entrepreneur and venture investor. Navin was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2009, ranked on the Forbes Midas List of top 100 dealmakers as #11 in 2009, #10 in 2008 and #58 in 2007. He invests in the energytech, internet/digital media, enterprise, semiconductor, and service provider sectors in the U.S. and leads Mayfield's investments in India. Navin has made over 25 investments in the past, of which 9 have had IPOs and 6 have been acquired. Prior to joining Mayfield, Navin was a Partner at Gabriel Venture Partners and EIR at Mobius Venture Capital. He was founder and CTO of VXtreme, a streaming media software company that was acquired by Microsoft and became Windows Media. He served in various management roles at Microsoft after that. Navin was also the co-founder of iBeam Broadcasting (NASDAQ IPO) and CEO and founder of Rivio (acquired by CPA2Biz). Navin holds an M.S. degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University (received the Stanford and IBM Graduate Fellowships) and a B.Tech. degree in electrical engineering from IIT Delhi (received the Director's Medal for being first in his class) and was honored with the prestigious distinguished IIT Alumni Award in 2006.
Gary Fromer, Chief Executive Officer, CPower
As chief executive officer of CPower, Gary is responsible for advancing the company's product portfolio and continuing to expand its presence into new and current markets, as well as running the day-to-day operations of the company. Gary joined CPower in 2007. Prior to joining CPower, Gary served as senior vice president of SAP Managed Services, where he oversaw SAP's Hosting, Application Management and CRM on-demand businesses in the Americas. Gary also held various other roles at SAP including: senior vice president, SMB and Hosting; chief strategy officer for SAP Markets, Inc.; and vice president, new business and partner solutions for SAP America, Inc. Prior to joining SAP in 1998, Gary worked at Unisys Corporation. Gary earned a BS in Economics (Finance) from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, a BA in Philosophy from the University of Pennsylvania, and a JD from Columbia University Law School.
Michael B. Gordon, Chief Strategy Officer and Founder, CPower
As chief strategy officer and founder of CPower, Mike is responsible for identifying strategic alliances, building the firm's vision of how energy markets should be structured, and creating the new products and services within these markets. Mike founded CPower in 2001. Mike is a 24-year veteran of the energy industry having built several profit- and non-profit businesses that have saved buyers more than $400 million through aggregated purchase of commodities. Beyond creating market makers in the demand response sale of capacity and energy, Mike has also written and delivered energy curricula, listening and critical analysis curricula, and environmental responsibility curricula to more than 200 schools, national educational campaigns, and the central New York City Department of Education. Mike earned a generalist BA from the State University of New York at Binghamton, a generalist MPA from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, and an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
